History of Andijan State Technical Institute

Brief History of the Institute

Andijan State Technical Institute is one of the higher education institutions located in the Andijan region. It was established in 1976 as a branch of the Tashkent Institute of National Economy (now Tashkent State University of Economics). Since 1992, it has been operating as an independent institution (initially named Andijan Institute of Economics and Management, later under other names).

  1. Established in 1976 as a branch of the Tashkent Institute of National Economy. According to the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 6, 1991, the institute was transformed into the Tashkent State University of Economics.
  2. According to Presidential Decree No. 217 dated February 28, 1992, the Andijan Institute of Economics and Management was established on the basis of the branch.
  3. By Resolution No. 211 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 3, 1995 (link), the Andijan Institute of Economics and Management and the Andijan Experimental Educational and Production Center were merged to form the Andijan Engineering and Economics Institute.
  4. In accordance with Presidential Resolution No. PP-1533 dated May 20, 2011, and the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated July 25, 2011 (link, link 1, link 2), the institute was transformed into the Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute.
  5. According to Presidential Resolution No. PP-396 dated November 18, 2024, (link), the Andijan State Technical Institute was established based on the Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute, the Andijan Institute of Economics and Construction, and the Andijan branch of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

By 2025, the institute has trained more than 33,000 specialists.

The educational process has been organized based on the credit-module system since the 2020/2021 academic year in accordance with Order No. 357 of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education dated June 30, 2020, and Resolution No. 824 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 31, 2020.

Institute Mission

The mission of Andijan State Technical Institute is to improve the system of training qualified personnel for the economy of the Andijan region, including the automotive industry, electrical engineering, energy, textile industry, mechanical engineering, construction, and other sectors; to ensure the preparation of specialists with modern knowledge and practical skills through effective resource use and strengthening the material and technical base of the institute.
